From MediaTek LinkIt™ Smart 7688 to a voice interaction development board - the ReSpeaker
Our partners at Seeed Studio have built a voice interaction development board, the ReSpeaker, based on the MT7688 SoC. Beginning life as DIY project using the MediaTek LinkIt Smart™ 7688 development platform, the ReSpeaker combines the MT7688 with speech recognition services like Amazon Alexa. The ReSpeaker allows you to add voice interaction to anything you like, turning a traditional speaker into an Amazon Echo device.
The project is currently launched on Kickstarter - we wish Seeed Studio the best of luck with this interesting project.
The MediaTek LinkIt™ Smart 7688 development platform is based on the MT7688 Wi-Fi SoC. This chipset is based on a powerful 802.11n 1T1R Wi-Fi AP, supports up to 2Gb RAM with additional SD-card storage, encryption engine Wi-Fi and a wide variety of peripheral connectivity options.
The platform allows developers to quickly develop Wi-Fi enabled products for the smart office and home. The platform is based on OpenWrt Linux and provides multiple programming options (Python, Node.js, native C, and Arduino). Two HDKs are available for creating IoT proof-of-concepts - the LinkIt Smart 7688 and the LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo.
